Today is Sandra’s turn for sharing an inspirational card which she has made for the:
Sandra’s inspiration for the above card came from her Dad who worked on the railways for 43 years, she also lived near to a train station.
Also as a child she remembers running onto an iron bridge, close to where she lived and watching the ‘Flying Scotsman’ go by on the start of it’s journey to America and Canada where she supported British exports. The Flying Scotsman returned to the UK in 1973, then travelled onto Australia in 1988. Eventually she returned to Britain in 1990. Sadly in 2004 she was put up for auction but lucky enough the National Railway Museum won the bid.
The Flying Scotsman used to run from Edinburgh to London – the capitals of Scotland and England with the journey taking 10 1/2 hours. The service first began in 1862 and finished in 1963.
An inaugural journey from London’s Kings Cross to York began on 25th February 2016.
